It was words that I fell for.
In the end, it was words that broke my heart.

I found this book in the stack of those waiting-to-be-picked books for my school library's monthly purchases. From the very first moment I saw this book, I instantly fell in love with it. Why? First I fell in love with the gorgeous cover. Second, the words in the back cover of the book really makes me think this book is addictive. Loving this book is as simple as that.
When I started reading this book, I got captivated by the words. So many poems and prose about love, definitely making me interested on reading this book. Even though poems are usually words that only people who likes poetry understand (in my opinion), I think I read the word in this book easily as if I'm reading a first-grader grammar textbook! Because of this book, I like to read poems about love.
Even though the author uses poem and prose to express the feelings of something lost, something forgotten, something that used to be precious to us, especially talking about love and heartbreaks, I got the point of the feeling. Oh, how tortured a person is when they feel something emotionally negative (in the point of view from themselves)!
The only thing that I think the book's missing is the "more" new original story from the author, rather than just 35 new poems. I read a few reviews in Goodreads and they stated that they're a bit disappointed due to the fact that this book is like a compilation of "Love & Misadventure" and "Lullabies" with additional poem. I think this book is suitable for those first-times of Lang Leav's books or people who are really her fans, who really adore every work she had made.
Also, I think that using a blank page as a border between the last and the next poem is a good idea, although it also means that this book has the share of making global warming worse. I like the quality of the paper, though, as if I'm reading an old, antique book.
Due to the good writing of how the author expresses feelings, my friends and I are currently ordering this book to be purchased through the school library's help. This book should definitely be a good use for future reference in my novel.
4.5 stars out of 5 for this book.
